ABOUT the repair PROCESS

The wizardry of wheel repair is a mystery to most; here's a peek behind the magic.

01

Remove Damage.

Using all pneumatic tools and 3M abrasives, we remove all damage* and contour the repaired area to match the surrounding area. We begin with surface conditioning discs and work our way down to 1000 grit wet sandpaper so that any tool marks will be imperceivable after applying paint and clear.  Because we do not use fillers in this process, there may be a slight depression or difference in contour where deeper damage has been repaired.

02

prep for paint

After the area has been repaired, we meticulously clean the face of the wheel, removing all dust, wax, and grease.**  We then tape off the tire, logos, and lug nuts to prevent any overspray. And last but not least, we use an adhesion promoter to ensure a lasting bond between the prepared surface and paint.

03

Paint and clear

We use quality airbrushes and spray guns to apply  OEM paints and Spies Hecker clear coats. Our clear coats contain UV protectants, to ensure a lasting finish that will not discolor over time.  Paint colors sometimes can be hard to replicate. If we do not carry the OEM color, we will conduct a color test prior to the repair process.
